In order to provide relief to the new advocates who struggle at their initial stage, the Bar Council of India decided to pay Rs. 5000/.- stipend per month for a period of 5 years.
The resolution was passed by the Bar Council of India (BCI) at a joint meeting with the representatives of the State Bar Councils and State Bar Associations at Delhi.
The meeting was held to discuss and formulate schemes and proposals for lawyers.
This scheme can be linked with the Legal Service Authority Act, 1987. Those who will receive the stipend needs to provide legal aid to those unable to afford. The resolution also called for making necessary amendments in Legal Service Authority Act. Source : The New Indian Express

ReplyDeleteThis is very good decision and help the young advocates who wil get the much needed financial support. Linking it with legal aid is another practical decision . This will not only provide requisite experience to the young lawyers, it will also rid the lawyer of a guilty conscience that ge us getting aid of 5000 without dining anything. Hope all this is implemented soon

Good decision for BCI paying junior advocates 5000 per month I heartily welcome because many junior advocates are facing problems they will be happy.
ReplyDeleteI am requesting to BCI to take a decision for COP our profession is no 1 profession in world but nowadays we know what is our position many fake Advocates are Discredit our profession so my humble request to BCI to take a brutal decision.
